Job description

Big Dog Mechanical is seeking a Commercial HVAC Installation Tech to support the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial clients.

Position Summary

The Commercial HVAC Installation Tech will install, assemble, and commission commercial HVAC systems in accordance with project plans, industry standards, and safety requirements. This role plays a key part in delivering reliable, high-quality installations while maintaining a professional presence on job sites.

You will work closely with project teams and experienced technicians to ensure installations are completed efficiently, accurately, and ready for start-up and turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install commercial HVAC equipment and related components according to drawings, specifications, and installation instructions.

  • Measure, cut, assemble, and connect piping, ductwork, and electrical components as required for system operation.

  • Verify proper installation, alignment, and fit-up; troubleshoot installation issues to support commissioning and handoff.

  • Follow all jobsite safety procedures, including safe tool use, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting.

  • Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate progress, delays, and needs to supervisors and teammates.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting HVAC installation work in a commercial or industrial setting.

  • Strong understanding of HVAC installation practices, including safe handling of tools and materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic installation documents such as diagrams and schematics.

  • Willingness to travel locally to project locations and work on active job sites as needed.

  • Commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively with a team.
