Job description

Hourly Pay Range:
$28.47 - $42.71 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Assessment Specialist I
  • Location: LOH-Edward Naperville
  • Full Time
  • Hours: 1:00pm-11:30pm or 2:00pm-12:30am

What you will do:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health status using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
  • Collect and analyze relevant patient information, including medical history, social factors, and environmental factors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
  • Establish rapport with patients and their families to create a supportive and therapeutic environment.
  • Communicate assessment findings and treatment recommendations effectively and empathetically.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, evaluations, and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations.
  • Prepare concise and comprehensive assessment reports for clinicians and treatment teams.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff on mental health-related issues and best practices.

What you will need:
Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:
  • Master's Degree or a higher in a behavioral health field
  • A high level of communication skills is required in order interact effectively with others in very difficult situations
  • Knowledge of DSM5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) diagnostic criteria, ICD10 and interqual standards
  • A minimum of one year of previous assessment experience

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in crisis/emergency services, behavioral health setting
  • Knowledge of patient rights and law pertaining to mental health

Required License/Certificate:
  • Current State of Illinois e.g. Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor)
  • LPC, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Profession Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Current State of Illinois driver's license required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an alternate location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
  • CPI certification is required within 90 days of employment
  • Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association 90 days of employment
