Position Overview

Advent Health Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote position is centered around providing therapeutic care to adolescents and young adults in a community health clinic setting. You will play a critical role in guiding clients on their journey toward mental wellness, working closely with families to enhance their therapeutic experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for families, maintaining proactive and supportive communication throughout the therapeutic process.
  • Facilitate individualized therapeutic sessions, as well as family and group therapy, utilizing our clinical frameworks, including Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Conduct Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to educate and engage family members in the therapeutic process.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Efficiently manage data entry and retrieval through tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook (for email and scheduling), our electronic medical records (EMR) system, and online learning platforms.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and clinical supervision to foster teamwork and continuous improvement in patient care.
  • Stay informed and represent Advent Health at relevant meetings, trainings, and conferences.
  • Effectively manage your schedule to meet the clinical needs of clients while achieving personal and professional goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with adolescents and young adults who may be facing challenges related to mental health, substance abuse, trauma, or family dynamics. Our evidence-based therapeutic methods are designed to address their unique needs, ensuring they receive comprehensive, individualized care. A strong emphasis will be placed on building authentic connections with clients to foster trust and facilitate healing.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited or state-approved graduate school is required.
  • Current registration as an associate (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or designation as a Psychological Associate in California is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual, group, or family therapy to adolescents and young adults is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with mental health challenges, substance abuse issues, eating disorders, or trauma-informed care is preferred, allowing you to best serve our diverse client base.
