Job description

ITnova is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our aviation maintenance team supporting mission-critical rotary-wing aircraft operations. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of ground support equipment (GSE) used to support aircraft maintenance and flight line operations. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining mechanical and support equipment systems, is proficient in interpreting technical manuals and schematics, and is committed to ensuring safe, reliable, and mission-ready equipment availability in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of ground support equipment (GSE) used in support of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections on assigned support equipment to ensure operational readiness and availability.
  • Uses technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and manufacturer guidance in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Performs troubleshooting, repair, preservation, and corrective maintenance of assigned GSE components and subsystems.
  • Maintains documentation of all maintenance actions using required systems and forms.
  • Ensures compliance with maintenance, safety, and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) standards applicable to support equipment operations.
  • Supports maintenance operations by providing reliable and serviceable equipment to work centers and flight line users.
  • Performs corrosion control and preservation actions on assigned equipment, as required.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanical experience; aviation support equipment experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance drawings.
  • Must have knowledge of maintenance tools, shop practices, and support equipment operations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position, including operation of powered industrial equipment when required.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required.
  • Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required.
  • If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks.
  • If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours.
  • If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
