We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor that will be responsible for supervising and inspecting the work of the Housekeeping department and assists the Executive Housekeeper with ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Always approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- To ensure all staff in the Housekeeping Department complies with hotel policy regarding uniform and personal hygiene.
- To be aware of the day's business both in room occupancy, special requirements and VIP needs.
- Communicate with front desk regarding room moves, VIP guests, special needs and act on any information given.
- Issue keys, room lists, and cleaning schedules to housekeeping staff at the beginning of shift and collect and check them at end of shift.
- Check all work given to the room attendants, laundry attendants, public area, and maintenance throughout the day to ensure standards are being adhered to.
- Regularly Inspect guest rooms, public areas, recreational area for cleanliness, appearance and also to make sure these areas are kept as per the hotel's standards.
- Ensure that company standards for guest services, dรฉcor, and housekeeping services are met or exceeded.
- Maintain levels of stationary, linen, and amenity requirements in order to ensure consistency in standards.
- Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
- Conduct meetings and training sessions as and when required.
- Train staff on answering guest inquiries about hotel policies and services while maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of housekeeping or laundry experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
3. Experience in team management preferred.
4. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
5. Have a strong attention to details.
6. Must be able to multi-task.
7. Must be a team player.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy.
