Job description

Position Summary

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This position services guest rooms daily, stocks and maintains the housekeeping cart, and replenishes linens and supplies in accordance with company standards.

What You’ll Do

The following is a representative list of duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.


Guest Room Cleaning and Servicing

  • Clean and service guest rooms daily in accordance with hotel procedures, including picking up trash, sweeping, and dusting.
  • Change linens and make beds to hotel presentation standards.
  • Clean the entire bathroom thoroughly, following hotel cleanliness standards.
  • Clean windows and balconies as part of the standard room servicing routine.
  • Replenish guest room supplies and amenities according to company standards.


Cart and Supply Management

  • Retrieve, stock, restock, and store the housekeeping cart according to prescribed housekeeping, safety, and security procedures and regulations.
  • Receive assigned section, keys, supplies, and any priority room requests from the Senior Housekeeper at the start of each shift.
  • Turn in keys and unused supplies at the end of each shift.


Guest Service

  • Respond to guest requests promptly and report guest issues or complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Report any missing articles, damage, or mechanical problems to the Senior Housekeeper.
  • Turn in any articles left behind in guest rooms in accordance with lost-and-found procedures.


Team Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor on daily work priorities and provide assistance to fellow team members when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

What You Bring

Required:

  • No formal education requirement; ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. of force frequently or constantly.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and remain standing or walking for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and to effectively listen to and understand the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.

Preferred:

  • Previous housekeeping or room attendant experience in a hotel or related hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and security procedures.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • This position is based on property at Fort Wayne, IN.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; an average work week is 36-40 hours.
  • No travel required.
  • Medium work: ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs. of force frequently or constantly; ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire shift.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and standard housekeeping equipment.
