Job description

Responsible for cleaning rooms, hallways and other areas as assigned and complying with DKN Hotels' standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Clean guest rooms to DKN Hotels' standards including but not limited to: making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms completely, wiping down walls, etc.
  • Clean rooms within the minutes-per-room guideline established by the Executive Housekeeper and General Manager.
  • Follow DKN Hotels' policy for room amenities.
  • Turn in all items left in guestroom to manager immediately.
  • Maintain complete security of master room key. Return the key at the end of shift.
  • Never leave the property with key.
  • Report any maintenance items that need immediate attention.
  • Assist with laundry as needed.
  • Report any missing/found articles or damage to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Deliver DKN's "Home Away From Home" experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Independent Judgment Used:
Only within the guidelines established by management and to the extent of operating within DKN Hotels' policies and procedures.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Interior of guestrooms, hallways and storage rooms. Access to entire exterior and interior of property. Use of approved cleaning agents.
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
Previous one (1) year experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
Basic cleaning skills. Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and fellow team members to their understanding desirable. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently walking indoors and outdoors, climbing stairs. Repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, crawling, lifting and carrying. Reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 20 lbs. Exposure to cleaning agents.
