Job description

Director of Human Resources
Luxury Beachfront Resort | Miramar Beach, FL
On-Site | Relocation Assistance Available

Gateway Group Personnel has been retained to identify an accomplished Director of Human Resources for a premier, full-service beachfront resort along Florida’s Emerald Coast.

This highly visible leadership role supports approximately 500 employees across a complex hospitality operation.  The Director reports directly to the General Manager, serves on the Executive Leadership Team, and leads an established HR team.

This is not a turnaround situation.  The organization has a strong culture, highly tenured leadership, and a collaborative team.  They are seeking an HR leader who will build relationships, develop people, understand what is already working well, and thoughtfully identify opportunities for improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the resort’s Human Resources function and HR team.
  • Partner with the General Manager and executive leadership on people and business priorities.
  • Lead employee relations, investigations, performance management, and compliance.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Provide oversight of compensation, benefits, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and HR systems.
  • Coach department leaders and help develop a positive, high-performing workforce.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years in an HR Director or comparable leadership role.
  • Hotel experience required; full-service resort experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a large, complex workforce; ideally 500+ employees.
  • Proven experience leading and developing an HR team.
  • Strong employee relations and employment-law knowledge.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • A visible, approachable, hands-on leadership style.
  • College degree and professional HR certification preferred.
Why Consider It?
This is an opportunity to join a successful, established hospitality organization rather than rebuild one.

The next Director will inherit a capable HR team, have a seat at the executive table, and make a meaningful impact on employees and operations while living and working along Florida’s Emerald Coast.

Competitive compensation and benefits are offered, along with relocation assistance based on individual circumstances.
