Job description

Job Summary:
The Activities Attendant is responsible for assisting with organizing, facilitating, and supervising recreational activities for guests at a resort, hotel, recreational facility, or event venue. This position ensures that all activities are engaging, safe, and enjoyable, creating a positive and welcoming environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating recreational activities and events for guests, including games, sports, arts and crafts, and other leisure activities.
  • Provide guidance and instructions to guests on how to participate in activities, ensuring they understand the rules and safety procedures.
  • Supervise guests during activities to ensure safety and appropriate behavior, managing any conflicts or issues that may arise.
  • Set up and maintain activity equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of activity areas, making sure they are safe and attractive for guests.
  • Offer excellent customer service, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and are enjoying their time at the facility.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, provide recommendations on activities, and assist with any special requests.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during activities.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events or themed activities.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require post-secondary education in recreation, hospitality, or a related field).
  • Previous experience in customer service or recreation activities is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests of all ages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Energetic, friendly, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed (e.g., sports gear, event supplies).
  • Comfort with being outdoors in varying weather conditions (for outdoor activities).
  • Able to lift 75+ Pounds.
