Overview

The Landscape Gardner is responsible for ensuring that the outside grounds of the property is maintained at the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees.  The Landscape Gardner is responsible for maintaining the grounds outside the building to include: trimming of grass, trees, shrubs, removal, and planting of all types of plants, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean safe work area.
  • Maintain all plants and grounds: pick up all trash, water all plants/shrubs/trees/flowers, as necessary.
  • Trim, prune, fertilize and maintain all trees, plants and shrubs on the grounds.
  • Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs throughout the grounds.
  • Use all tools and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience with exterior plant maintenance preferred.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
