Restaurant Lead Server-Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko



Lead Server greets customers at their table, describes specials, takes guest orders, inputs into computer, and serves the guest. Cleans tables after completion of meal and resets table for next party. Helps with inventory, training, and other procedures to maintain standards.


Pay Rate - $13/hr +tips

Suggesting food and beverage selections.

Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.

Describe in detail tastes and texture.

Communicate with kitchen and co-workers regarding length of wait, re-cook orders and any food allergies or dietary needs.

Place all orders into computer system in a timely manner.

Serving and cleaning the table in a timely manner.

Anticipating guest needs.

Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by assignment.

Sincerely thanking all guests and welcoming them back.

Take customers orders for food and beverage.

Serve food and beverage in a cheerful, efficient manner and in accordance with our standards.

Remove solid plates as soon as customers have finished eating.

Maintain customer service standards applicable in the restaurant.

Maintain strict confidence regarding company related matters.

Comply with company and department policies and procedures.

Responsible for clocking in and out on time according to work schedule.

Responsible for maintaining the personal hygiene standards set down by the Food and Beverage Director.

Responsible for keeping work station and floor stations as clean as possible at all times.

Training new team members-- Servers, Hosts, and Bussers.

Keeping Cleaning Logs and upholding sanitizing processes.

Reviewing and adjusting schedules as needed, request staff be called in with F&B Manager approval.

Keeping accurate inventory and requesting orders for FOH needs (Paper products, bottled sauces, etc).

Expediting and assisting servers as Lead during Rush.

Implement and uphold Pre-Shift for PM staff.

Uphold team members to Company Policy, bring disciplinary actions to F&B Manager for follow up.

Managing the flow of the Restaurant to make sure each guest gets the proper service.

Performs related and/or any other job duties as required.

Requirements

Six months to one year experience as a food server in a high volume full service restaurant.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Upbeat and positive personality, Patient and warm demeanor.

Must be a team player with the desire to assist all co-workers.

Quick learner.

Ability to carry trays with food or dishes that can weigh 10 to 20 pounds and carry it with one hand in the upright position, balanced on one shoulder for approximately 20 to 30 feet.

The ability to memorize daily specials and answer questions concerning casino promotions.

Maintain a clean uniform and personal appearance.

Must be punctual and reliable attendance.

Must adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

Must be able to pass an online class for Safe Serve Food Handler's card.

Ability to write and speak fluent English.

Legible handwriting.

Ability to use simple math.
