Job description

Hotel Maintenance Technician

Base Pay: $16 per hour# per hour + $100/month attendance bonus — make your scheduled shifts on time and it's yours ($200/month in summer for eligible team members). Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and Best Western employee travel discounts at 4,000+ hotels worldwide.

About the role:

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician to keep our hotel running smoothly. You'll handle the day-to-day fixes — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, room repairs, common areas, and the occasional "the toilet does what?" call from the front desk.

This is a hands-on role. You're not running an engineering department; you're the person who makes sure rooms work and guests don't notice anything broken.

What you'll do:

  • Daily room and property walks to catch issues before guests do
  • HVAC service and basic repair — filter changes, thermostat issues, unit troubleshooting
  • Plumbing — leaks, clogs, toilet and fixture repair
  • Electrical — outlets, switches, light fixtures, basic troubleshooting
  • Painting, drywall patches, and cosmetic repairs in guest rooms and public spaces
  • Pool and hot tub maintenance (where applicable)
  • Exterior upkeep — signage, parking lot, snow removal in season
  • Preventative maintenance on schedule — water heaters, ice machines, laundry equipment
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and the front desk on room-down issues
  • Respond to guest maintenance calls during your shift

What we're looking for:

  • Solid hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general property maintenance — you don't need to be a master of all four, but you should be comfortable with at least two
  • Troubleshooter mindset — you'd rather figure it out than call a vendor
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in attics, crawl spaces, on ladders, and outdoors in all seasons
  • Valid driver's license
  • Available some weekends and holidays — and on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
  • Friendly with guests when you cross paths

HVAC certification is a plus. Apartment, facility, or hotel maintenance background all work. We don't expect you to have done everything — we expect you to be willing to learn what you haven't.

Why Peppertree:

  • $100–$200/month attendance bonus — show up for your shifts, earn it
  • Health, dental, vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off
  • Free mental health and wellness program
  • Best Western travel discounts — over 50% off at 4,000+ hotels in the U.S. and Canada
  • We promote from within
  • Apply today. Interviews this week.
