Job Description
The Event Meeting Manager is responsible for prospecting, contracting, planning and managing the execution of events, with a focus on Wedding and Social market segmentation, for Belterra Casino Resort.
The Event Meeting Manager:
  • Strategizes, identifies, and pursues Wedding and Social business opportunities from the prospecting and inquiry phase through the implementation of the sales agreement, detailing of the event and seamless execution.
  • Is responsible for driving revenue to the conference center, hotel and all non-gaming outlets.
  • Develops and books future business by identifying potential leads and actively soliciting future business within the Wedding/ Social segment.
  • Negotiates terms, quotes rates and prepares sales agreements on designated Conference Center and Hotel business in order to maximize revenues for the Conference Center, Hotel and Property as a whole.
  • Generates ideas and initiatives to aid in identifying new business opportunities to drive additional revenue in the Wedding/ Social segment.
  • Finds qualified leads utilizing all types of resources including attending tradeshows and working with third party vendors and resources.
  • Maintains knowledge of competitor's sales and convention programs in order to generate future leads and be able to sell against the competitive set's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Represents Belterra Casino Resort at meeting industry conventions/networking events in all territories when needed which may include business after hours and overnight travel.
  • Greets the client upon arrival to ensure a seamless transition to the operations team, which may include business after hours and on weekends.
  • Initiates and conducts meetings with clients to understand their vision for the event and to accurately articulate their needs from the Property.
  • Coordinates with appropriate department managers to ensure requests are understood and able to be successfully executed within our guest service and profitability metrics.
  • Creates Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Group Resumes, that accurately reflect the client's expectations while offering creative suggestions to upsell and maximize revenues and provide an extraordinary guest experience.
  • Provides accurate and timely communication both with the client and the Property.
  • Leads and/or participates in departmental meetings including BEO, Front Desk and Sales Meetings.
  • Confirms group's MOP (Method of Payment) is verified and completes a timely review of the group's invoice following the event. Ensure prompt payment of the event following departure.
  • Maintains a positive professional image at all times.
  • Performs all related duties as assigned.
  • Provides creative opportunities to upsell during event planning.
  • Be aware of annual and individual sales goals.
  • Follows standards to ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Creates an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
  • Sets a positive example for both team members and guests.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on quality and service standards.
  • Responds to and handle situations requiring service recovery.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in event management or related field, as well as one to three years of experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Broad understanding of managing all aspects of meetings and catered events.
  • Proven history of guest service that clearly showcases an understanding of guest service and revenue growth.
  • Knowledge of Wedding Industry and/or hotel & resort hospitality as it pertains to group sales preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills for variety of audiences.
  • Computer skills are essential with a focus on Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word & Excel. Experience with Sales Force / Delphi, GroupRev, Sertifi, LMS a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, managing multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
