Position Summary:

We are seeking an outgoing, highly motivated Sales & Events Manager to oversee our event space.  We are excited to be transitioning into a Hilton Tapestry Collection and we have many exciting plans!  The hotel is currently the area’s Traveler Ranked top hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews so the position would suit someone who can be focused on the details while delivering an exceptional level of care and guest service.  Our Sales & Events Manager is the chief contact for all customer enquiries and requests for venue space.  They take every event from creation to completion consulting with the client about every detail of the event and overseeing the event on the night to ensure that it runs smoothly.  Responsible for prospecting new sales, connecting with existing clients, negotiating contracts, managing revenue documentation, planning events and identifying opportunities to increase revenues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee our events calendar & event space.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and drive Guest Experience goals by delivering excellence throughout each interaction.
  • Ensure business leads are responded to with a 24-hour response time.
  • Deliver timely proposals and follow up.
  • Assist in developing our Sales goals and identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Prepare effective correspondence, negotiate rate agreements and contracts with clients and maintain internal booking reports & BEO paperwork
  • Assist with developing promotions and specialty packages to entice new customers.
  • Serve as our primary point of contact for events, managing all aspects of these events to ensure a smooth and professional delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with the F&B team on menu requests
  • Negotiate vendor & 3rd party contracts and assist with accounts receivable
  • Arrange and conduct memorable and unique site inspection tours, Sales Missions & Blitz Campaigns
  • Assist in social media marketing to include Facebook, Instagram and wedding websites.
  • Review wedding package offerings to ensure components are providing value for money and are profitable.
  • Review and update the approved vendor list
  • Work with the F&B team to ensure the catering menus are current and up to date with a quarterly menu costing completed.
  • Host weekly BEO meetings, attend all hotel meetings as necessary.
  • Participation in the hotel Manager on Duty Program is required
  • Complete weekly revenue to pace reports & update action plans and financial objectives quarterly.
  • Represent Hotel & Event space in various events, trade shows & exhibitions
  • Implement all sales & action plans related to our market as outlined in the marketing plan.
  • Develop strong relationships with Guest Services team and Food & Beverage team to ensure that we are all working in unity to achieve the same goal.
  • Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand our customer base.

Prerequisites:

  • Pride & attention to detail with a polished personal presentation and a warm, confident, hospitable personality
  • Proven track record with 3 - 5 years’ experience in Sales & Events Management arena
  • Empathy toward your clients & colleagues
  • Branded Hotel Experience preferred

Education:

  • 3 year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.

Experience:

  • 3 to 4 years’ experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
