What is a hotel busser?

Hotel bussers are support staff responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in dining areas of hotels. Their main duties include clearing tables, resetting them for new guests, refilling water and beverages, and assisting servers in delivering food and supplies. Bussers help ensure a smooth dining experience by responding quickly to guest needs and maintaining a tidy environment. They play a vital role in upholding the hotel's service standards and guest satisfaction.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a hotel busser?

To thrive as a Hotel Busser, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; a high school diploma is generally preferred but not always required. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and safe food handling practices is beneficial, with some employers providing Food Handler certification training. Excellent teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude are vital soft skills for providing seamless guest experiences and supporting wait staff.
