Job Overview
The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional beverage and food service to guests while maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and professional bar environment. This role includes preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with guests, managing bar inventory, and ensuring compliance with service and safety standards. The Bartender plays a key role in driving guest satisfaction through product knowledge, service excellence, and a strong focus on hospitality.
This position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume bar and restaurant environment requiring constant standing and continuous guest interaction. Work is performed primarily indoors behind the bar and in surrounding service areas with exposure to noise, uneven surfaces, cleaning chemicals, hot and cold items, and potentially slippery floor conditions. Success in this role requires strong multitasking ability, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of beverage service and mixology.
Job Responsibilities
Bar Service & Guest Experience
  • Greet guests promptly upon arrival at the bar or restaurant
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards
  • Provide table-side or bar service as needed, including food and beverage delivery
  • Engage with guests to provide a welcoming and high-quality experience

Beverage Knowledge & Sales
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and cocktail recipes
  • Recommend beverages and utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience
  • Stay informed on current drink trends and menu offerings
  • Ensure consistency and quality in all beverage preparation and presentation

Inventory & Bar Operations
  • Maintain par levels and assist with daily bar inventory and ordering
  • Perform scheduled inventory counts and report variances
  • Follow cash handling and bank procedures according to accounting guidelines
  • Assist in maintaining cost control and minimizing waste

Cleanliness & Compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas throughout shift
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and alcohol service regulations
  • Maintain a polished, clean, and professional uniform appearance at all times
  • Handle glassware, bar tools, and equipment safely and responsibly

Team Support & Flexibility
  • Assist with guest flow and greet guests entering the restaurant or bar
  • Support other food and beverage departments as needed
  • Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented service environment

Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of bartending experience required; full-service bar experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
