What is a Hot Tub Sales job?

A Hot Tub Sales job involves helping customers choose the right hot tub based on their needs, budget, and preferences. Sales representatives educate buyers on features, maintenance, and financing options. They may work in showrooms, home shows, or online, providing product demonstrations and closing sales. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Is it hard to sell hot tubs?

Hot tub sales can be challenging because they involve high-cost items that require customer education and trust. Successful salespeople often need strong product knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to address customer concerns about installation, maintenance, and pricing.

What is the highest paid salesman job?

In sales roles, high earnings are often found in executive or enterprise sales positions, such as sales directors or account executives in industries like technology, pharmaceuticals, or luxury goods. Top-performing salespeople with extensive experience, strong negotiation skills, and industry knowledge can earn six-figure salaries or more, especially with commissions and bonuses included.

What does a typical day look like for someone working in hot tub sales?

A typical day in hot tub sales involves engaging with potential customers on the showroom floor, answering questions about different models and features, and providing tailored product recommendations based on client preferences. You may also conduct follow-up calls or emails with leads from previous inquiries, prepare price quotes, and process sales transactions using CRM and POS systems. Collaboration with technicians or delivery teams to arrange product installations is common, and there are often opportunities to participate in training sessions or promotional events. This dynamic role combines customer interaction, product knowledge, and teamwork in a retail or showroom environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Hot Tub Sales position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Hot Tub Sales, you need strong interpersonal skills, persuasive communication abilities, and a solid understanding of product features and benefits, often supported by experience in retail or direct sales. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and point-of-sale (POS) systems can be highly advantageous, along with any sales-related certifications. Exceptional active listening, resilience, and customer-focused problem-solving set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are essential for building rapport, addressing client needs, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Why is there a 15-minute hot tub rule?

Hot tub sales professionals often recommend a 15-minute wait after filling or heating a hot tub to allow the water temperature to stabilize and ensure proper chemical balance before use. This practice helps prevent damage to the equipment and ensures customer safety and satisfaction. Knowledge of these guidelines is important for sales and installation roles to provide accurate information to customers.

How much do hot tub salesmen make?

Hot tub salesmen typically earn an average annual salary between $30,000 and $60,000, often supplemented by commissions based on sales performance. Earnings can vary depending on experience, location, and the company's commission structure.

About the Role

The Pre-Owned Hot Tub Technician is the heart of our pre-owned production pipeline. You'll diagnose,

new product prep and in-house repair of demo and warranty equipment.

What You'll Do

Refurbishment & Repair

  • Diagnose pre-owned hot tubs using multimeters and other diagnostic tools
  • Repair electrical and plumbing systems using manufacturer-approved methods
  • Replace components including pumps, heaters, control systems, and plumbing assemblies
  • Perform full system testing to verify functionality and performance to factory standards

Quality & Readiness

  • Conduct final operational "wet testing" to ensure reliability before release
  • Clean, sanitize, and prepare units for resale presentation
  • Ensure all units meet internal quality standards prior to customer delivery

Workflow & Inventory

  • Track repairs, parts usage, and unit status using traveler sheets and internal systems
  • Coordinate with Inventory Control to maintain appropriate parts and supply levels
  • Identify recurring issues and communicate with leadership to improve efficiency

Workspace & Cross-Functional Support

  • Operate forklift and material handling equipment to move units safely
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace following CAYG (Clean As You Go) standards
  • Assist with in-house repairs on warranty and demo units
  • Provide backup support for new tub preparation and assembly for delivery as needed

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude — able to diagnose and repair electromechanical systems
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeter required)
  • Ability to read technical documentation and apply repair procedures
  • Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple units in different stages of repair simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, or similar)
