Basic Job Functions:
The Hot Mill Shift Supervisor will lead the Hot Mill efforts to become the world's safest steel company. This position is an integral member of the Hot Mill leadership team and will be responsible for leading the efforts to continually improve our safety, profitability, and team member development. This will include promoting a culture of ownership, engagement, and teamwork, working with other departments to ensure consistency and long-term success of the division. Able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Five years of experience in an industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of relevant Hot Strip Mill experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or other education, training, or certifications that show evidence of desire for growth and personal improvement, particularly in areas that complement job performance.
  • The willingness to advance further in his/her career and relocate for future opportunities within Nucor.
