Job description

BASIC PURPOSE Basic Purpose: Reporting to the Hospitality Institute Operations and Events Manager, this part-time, temporary casual role assists with the execution of daily operations in the Hospitality Institute (HI). *This position requires the PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Check and FBI Fingerprints as a condition of employment. Part Time Casual Employees are hired on a seasonal basis during peak periods, may serve a maximum of four consecutive months (i.e

summer/fall enrollment peak) and are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Hospitality Institute Aide Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Operations and Events manager: Maintains organization and cleanliness of Hospitality Institute labs, sculleries, dry storage, coolers, freezers, and equipment based on HACCP and standard operating procedures. Execute daily dishwashing duties and cleaning of dish room Inspects food and product deliveries received against invoices for accuracy and quality.

Stocks, restocks, and rotates inventory in dry storage, coolers, and freezers. Fills requisitions for Hospitality Institute functions including labs, culinary enthusiast sessions, and summer camps. Prepares, labels, and stores food product consistent with industry and Hospitality Institute Standards Assists in preparation, set-up, execution, breakdown, and cleaning of catering and campus program events.

Performs related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Position Requirements: High School Diploma required. Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of working in a kitchen, mise en place.

Preferred 2-5 years experience in high volume food preparation and/or foodservice Ability to lift to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to continuously stand (90% of working hours) with occasional walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling and reaching.
