The Mavericks Performance & Training Center serves as the primary training, practice, performance, and hospitality facility for the Dallas Mavericks NBA organization. Designed to support elite athletic performance and world-class hospitality operations, the facility combines premium amenities, elevated food and beverage experiences, and a culture centered on professionalism, teamwork, discipline, and excellence.

The hospitality operation supports players, coaches, executives, corporate partners, VIP guests, and special events throughout the year. Operating in a dynamic, high-performance environment, the Mavericks Performance & Training Center seeks culinary professionals who are passionate about food, hospitality, and delivering exceptional experiences through consistency and execution.

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing menu items according to established recipes, production standards, and presentation guidelines. This role plays a critical part in maintaining food quality, consistency, and operational efficiency throughout all hospitality and culinary operations within the Mavericks Performance & Training Center.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and possesses the discipline required to consistently execute at a high level. This position supports player dining, executive dining, VIP hospitality, corporate events, and daily food service operations.

Core Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Culinary Execution

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and production guidelines.
  • Execute all assigned station responsibilities while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure proper preparation, cooking temperatures, portioning, and plating techniques.
  • Assist with daily mise en place, prep production, and station setup.
  • Maintain speed, organization, and accuracy during service periods.
  • Execute food orders efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support culinary leadership in delivering exceptional food experiences across all hospitality programs.

Station Management & Operational Readiness

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and supplies are properly maintained and operational.
  • Monitor product levels and communicate inventory needs to culinary leadership.
  • Follow all opening, closing, and side-work procedures.
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store all food products according to company standards.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.

Food Safety & Sanitation

  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and production areas.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Participate in daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with culinary team members and hospitality operations staff.
