We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team of an established, high-volume, full-service restaurant in Ontario.

The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Chef to lead daily operations, develop team members, drive financial performance, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Position Overview

The Assistant General Manager is a hands-on restaurant leader responsible for supporting all aspects of daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

• Support the General Manager in leading daily restaurant operations

• Open and close the restaurant as assigned

• Lead and supervise restaurant shifts

• Ensure company policies, procedures, and operating standards are consistently followed

• Maintain appropriate staffing levels based on business volume and operational needs

• Ensure teams have the equipment, supplies, and resources necessary for successful service

• Step into different areas of the operation when necessary to support the team

Guest Experience

• Maintain a strong leadership presence on the restaurant floor

• Interact with guests and actively gather feedback regarding food and service

• Ensure hospitality and service standards are consistently maintained

• Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently

• Coach employees on service behaviors and guest engagement

• Partner with culinary leadership regarding food quality and execution

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and motivate restaurant team members

• Provide ongoing feedback based on observation and performance

• Maintain accountability to restaurant standards

• Help create a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture

• Support training and development of restaurant employees

• Identify and develop high-potential team members for future leadership opportunities

Financial Performance

• Help achieve or exceed restaurant financial and operational goals

• Support labor management and productivity

• Monitor restaurant performance throughout each shift

• Make operational decisions that balance guest experience with financial objectives

• Partner with the General Manager to identify opportunities to improve restaurant performance

Food, Beverage & Compliance

• Partner closely with culinary leadership to maintain food quality and service standards

• Monitor alcoholic beverage service and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies

• Maintain restaurant safety, sanitation, and operational standards

• Ensure employees consistently follow company procedures and expectations

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 4 years of full-service restaurant management experience preferred

• Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Service Manager, or comparable leadership experience

• High-volume restaurant experience strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant operations

• Experience leading and developing restaurant teams

• Strong guest service and hospitality skills

• Ability to manage labor and support restaurant financial performance

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable leading in a fast-paced restaurant environment

• Ability to work a flexible restaurant schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Strong leadership presence with a hands-on management style

Compensation

Base Salary: $70,304 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience

Bonus Opportunity: 5% to 10%
