Position Summary: As a Night Auditor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the hotel's operations during the evening hours. You will be responsible for closing out the day's transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing exceptional guest service in the process. This position combines the precision of accounting with the warmth of hospitality, ensuring a smooth and memorable guest experience, even after the sun sets. With your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence, you'll help ensure the hotel's operations run smoothly while creating lasting impressions for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
โž” Guest Services:
โ—† Greet and assist guests with their overnight requests, ensuring a smooth and comfortable stay.
โ—† Respond to guest inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing helpful information about hotel services, amenities, and the surrounding area.
โ—† Handle any guest concerns or requests promptly and professionally, escalating to management as necessary.
โ—† Process check-ins and check-outs for overnight guests, ensuring accurate billing and guest satisfaction.
โž” Night Audit & Financial Reporting:
โ—† Perform daily auditing procedures, including verifying and balancing all hotel accounts, from room charges to F&B and incidental transactions.
โ—† Run end-of-day reports and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
โ—† Review and process payments, ensuring all charges are properly accounted for.
โ—† Organize and verify receipts from hotel outlets, ensuring all revenue is properly recorded.
โ—† Settle all guest folios after the audit has been successfully completed, ensuring all charges and payments are accurately reflected.
โ—† Perform nightly financial reconciliation, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved.
โ—† Prepare and verify the accuracy of the nightly financial reports, including room revenue, taxes, and guest folios.
โž” Operational Coordination:
โ—† Assist with the preparation for the next day's operations, including ensuring rooms are assigned, guest requests are handled, and information is ready for morning shift staff.
โ—† Maintain security and safety procedures during overnight hours, ensuring the hotel remains a safe and welcoming environment.
โ—† Communicate with other departments (Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc.) to resolve any issues or requests that arise during the night.
โž” Administrative Duties:
โ—† Complete required paperwork, including shift reports and night audit logs.
โ—† Safeguard hotel assets and ensure all confidential guest information is protected.
โ—† Maintain hotel security by monitoring surveillance systems and conducting routine security checks.
โ—† Ensure that the night audit process is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
โ— Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; college coursework in accounting or hospitality management is a plus.
