About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers seeks part-time Sales & Hospitality Associates to join ournewest youth swim facility in Chelsea, Manhattan. In this role, you willbe responsible forboth delivering superior customer service and executing sales initiatives. This role reports to theSales + Hospitality Managerand works closely with all teams.

As the Sales & HospitalityAssociate, you will be expected to:

Hospitality Responsibilities:

  • Leverage connectivity and retention opportunities by engaging and building relationships with members and customers

  • Address customer questions, comments, or concernsin a timely manner

  • Troubleshoot emerging issues as they arise; always prioritizing the customer experience

  • Greet customers in an energetic and friendly manner as the enter the facility

  • Respond to inbound inquiries about offerings, registration, etc. through our Customer Relationship Management system (Zoho)

Sales Responsibilites:

  • Help achieve team sales pace and targets on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis

  • Provide a highly competitive, satisfactory, and uncompromising sales experience to all new, current, and potential clients

  • Initiate or execute projects for the sales team, and drive engagement with seasonal experiences (ex: Summer Camp)

  • Be educated with a working knowledge of all product and service offerings toleverageall upselling and cross selling opportunities

Operations Responsibilities:

  • Work a minimum of two shifts at the main desk / week

  • Maintain in-stock and presentable conditions in all assigned work areas

  • Attend weekly departmental meetings and other scheduled meetings to support operations

  • Aid team members in all attendance, scheduling, registration, and check-in procedures

About You:
You are personable, goal-oriented, and adaptable. You excel in building relationships and providing exceptional customer service. You have a knack for sales and enjoy exceeding targets. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are proactive in addressing issues as they arise.

  • Minimum of 1 year in experience in hospitality, event, or catering sales, preferred

  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Associate, Sales Representative, or similar role

  • Prior sport/athletic experience, preferred

  • High school diploma/GED req

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Zoho is preferred

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

  • Knowledge of product and service offerings, with a willingness to upsell and cross-sell

  • Experience in operations or hospitality, with a focus onmaintaininga presentable environment and supporting team members

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities

  • Ability to workat least one weekend day
