OBGyn Hospitalist Position

Location: Washington, DC

We invite you to be a part of our expanding OBGyn Hospitalist program at a prominent medical facility in Washington, DC.

Currently, we are seeking candidates for both full-time and PRN roles.

Position Overview

Full-time team members (1.0 FTE) will provide comprehensive 24/7 coverage, averaging six 24-hour shifts each month. This role offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Additional shifts beyond the contractual minimum will be compensated accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee primary management of deliveries within our Maternal Health Access Program
  • Attend to unassigned obstetrics and gynecology patients arriving through the Emergency Department
  • Support community physicians in Labor and Delivery, including occasional first assist during cesarean sections, initial care in emergencies, and triage assistance
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will be adept at handling emergencies in both obstetrics and gynecology and possess the adaptability to work in a supportive capacity when necessary. They will practice evidence-based medicine collaboratively and advocate for patient safety and healthcare equity.

Reporting Structure

The OBGyn Hospitalist will report to the Medical Director, who in turn reports to the Vice President of Medical Affairs. Collaboration will also occur with the National Capital Region Director of Gynecology and Obstetrics from the affiliated medical school, along with the Director of Nursing, Director of Operations, and Chairperson of Women and Infant Services. This teamwork aims to enhance quality, safety, and patient-centered care initiatives.

Collaboration and Community Engagement

Clinical Associates will work closely with community obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists to address patient care needs, drive quality and safety initiatives, and enhance operational efficiency.

Employment Details

This position is employed through the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the affiliated medical school, offering a faculty appointment and academic rank based on experience.
