To thrive as a Hospital Sitter, you need a basic understanding of patient care, observation skills, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hospital protocols, patient monitoring systems, and sometimes basic first aid certification is typically required. Hospital sitters often face challenges such as managing patients with varying needs, handling long or overnight shifts, and maintaining alertness throughout their assignment. Effective communication with nursing staff and adhering to hospital protocols are essential for ensuring patient safety and support.
