How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Safe & Regulatory-Compliant Driving: Operate vehicles in strict compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations, maintaining an accident-free record while immediately reporting any unusual incidents to supervisors.
  • Specialized Passenger Assistance: Provide compassionate, hands-on assistance to riders—including physically limited individuals—ensuring the proper and safe operation of wheelchair lifts and secure tie-down equipment.
  • Route & Schedule Optimization: Manage daily transport schedules by proactively adjusting to unexpected changes and determining the safest, most efficient pickup and delivery routes to guarantee timely arrivals.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct rigorous daily safety and cleanliness inspections of assigned vehicles, addressing maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational readiness.
  • Departmental Support & Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous, accurate driving logs according to regulatory standards and collaborate closely with the department supervisor to streamline daily transportation activities.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Chauffeur preferred.
  • Heart Saver AED preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
