Job description

The SECURITY GUARD performs a variety of duties related to the security of the clinic building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and to assure personal safety of employees, patients and visitors.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Periodically tours building and grounds for security inspections.
  • Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains when appropriate. Contacts local law enforcement when necessary.
  • Assist clinical staff with management of assaultive behavior related to agitated or aggressive patient.
  • Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Checks automobiles for proper parking authorization. Checks exterior lighting and access routes to emergency entrance.
  • Maintains written reports of incidents.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active CA Guard Card required
  • One year security guard, preferably in a hospital, clinic or similar environment
  • Knowledge Management of Assaultive Behavior techniques
  • Ability to work around patients seeking psychiatric / behavioral health treatment
  • Must be able to communicate (speak and understand) English
