Job description

Company Overview:

Estella Health is a healthcare division of Coastal Medical Transportation Services, providing mobile and other healthcare services to residents and organizations throughout Rhode Island. We are currently seeking a Per Diem Experienced Registered Nurse to support the Hospital at Home Program.

Purpose

Under the direction of the Estella Health Leadership and supervisory staff, registered nurses (RNs) will provide safe and effective medical care at the acute care level. As a registered nurse (RN), you will be a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing medical care to patients admitted in a hospital at home program. Your primary role will be to provide typical nursing care to patients. This position requires a compassionate and skilled RN with the ability to work effectively in a home setting.

Essential Duties

  • The nurse will be responsible for daily nursing visits to admitted patients in their homes throughout Rhode Island.

  • Safely driving a company issued vehicle.

  • Assisting with admitting new patients and discharging patients per provider's orders.

  • Providing various medical services such as lab draws, medication reconciliation, basic vital signs, patient assessments, medication administration, obtaining 12 Lead ECG’s, sample collections, COVID/Flu/RSV swabs

  • IV medication administration or hydration

  • Documentation for each patient encounter.

  • The nurse must be willing to work independently in the community while maintaining open communication with the Care Team and Providers.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, clinical assessment experience, and be

  • Current motor vehicle operator’s license.

  • Current active registered nurse license in Rhode Island.

  • Two years of skilled nursing experience.

  • BLS certification.

  • ACLS certification preferred.

  • IV placement experienced.

  • IV Medication administration experienced.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions using the English language.

  • Satisfactory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information)

Physical Requirements

The demands of the position require typical physical strength and dexterity along with the ability to function in adverse environments with potential exposure to the numerous health and safety risks inherent in the healthcare environment. It is expected that the performance of any or all of the physical activities described below would not hinder the RNs ability to perform patient care.

  • Ability to carry equipment (backpack of supplies, zoll cardiac monitor) as needed

  • Ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty.

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp in a variety of circumstances in order to provide patient care.
