Job description

Job Description:

Our Fontana, CA operation is currently looking for an Industrial Painter. The Painter position prepares and sprays surfaces of manufactured products, machines, or working area with protective material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

Pay: $21.00 or $22.98 (based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleans grease and dirt from product being painted
  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated
  • Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface
  • Utilizes a grinder, sander, or wire brush over the surface to be painted if metal is rusted
  • Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
  • Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
  • Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat
  • Coats area inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush or spray can.
  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products preferred
  • Experience in a fast paced production environment preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and any other instructions.
  • Ability to pass all EHS requirements

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Position requires regular use of hand tools and equipment
  • Position requires frequent standing or walking
  • Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and over 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Employees must regularly climb, push and pull.
  • Employees may occasionally be in a cramped or confined space.
  • Position will have regular exposure to fumes.
  • Position will have occasional exposure to noise, dust, grease, oil, and dirt.
