Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Linen Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, distribution, and inventory management of linens within the healthcare facility at Eskenazi Health. This role is crucial in maintaining a hygienic environment for patients and staff by handling linens with care and adhering to strict sanitation requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
  • Collect, sort, and launder soiled linens from various departments.
  • Distribute clean linens to designated areas within the facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of linen supplies.
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and report any damages.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment according to safety guidelines.
Job Requirements
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of laundry procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Capable of utilizing standard linen equipment specific to box cutter, IPAD, electronic power jacks, linen carts and recycle & trash compactors.
  • Preferred knowledge of healthcare terminology, linen materials handling and Linen Helper software.
