Job Description - Manager Informatics - Inpatient Informatics (260002MY)

Description

In alignment with Tampa General Hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values, this position is responsible for managing professional staff and/or supervisors within Informatics area, program, or modality. The role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in quality and efficiency. It involves strategic planning, budget oversight, staff development, and performance management. The incumbent serves as a technical and operational resource, guiding teams and collaborating across departments to achieve organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and supervise assigned team members and/or supervisors.
  • Adapt operational plans to meet resource and performance challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Oversee key projects, processes, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and monitor operational budgets and productivity guidelines.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff to ensure competency and alignment with goals.
  • Implement quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge through professional development and networking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational success

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, or other related field required.
  • Three (3) years progressive experience in healthcare setting.
  • Registered Nurse experience required.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of healthcare systems, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop teams, including outsourced personnel, to meet performance and compliance standards.
  • Skill in preparing and managing budgets, forecasting needs, and aligning resources with strategic goals.
  • Proficiency in analyzing operational data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing evidence-based improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, leadership, patients, and external partners.
  • Ability to interpret performance reports, analyze variances, and apply corrective actions using data-driven approaches.
