All faculty at Georgia State are, as part of their essential job duties, expected to: (1) be physically present on-campus as needed to contribute to Georgia State's in-person educational experience, and (2) be able to teach in each of the following instructional modalities - in-person, online, or blended/hybrid - as determined by their Department Chair or Dean.

The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, a Health Coaching Certificate, a fully accredited Coordinated Program at the master's level, an MS/DPD, an MS in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, a PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, and a PhD in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences. The Department includes 10 full-time faculty and several part-time faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment. Faculty research is supported by funding from NIH, USDA, commodity boards, and industry. The Department maintains over 50 agreements for pre-professional practice experiences with hospitals, community/government agencies, and private organizations. Opportunities exist for joint appointments in units such as Biology, Chemistry, Kinesiology and Health, and Public Health.

The Department of Nutrition invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to:

For Associate Professor rank: At least 7 years of prior academic experience with a strong record of research productivity, including publications in top-tier journals and successful grantsmanship.

Earned doctorate in Nutrition or a related discipline with an emphasis on human health.

A criminal background check and official transcripts are required.
