Position Summary
Position Summary
The Data Analyst - Quality Standards & Assessment is responsible for supporting the organization's quality, regulatory, and performance improvement initiatives through advanced data analysis, reporting, and informatics. This role serves as a subject matter expert in healthcare quality data, leveraging clinical and operational information to support regulatory compliance, accreditation, and strategic decision-making.
Working collaboratively with Quality, Clinical Informatics, Information Technology, and operational leaders, the Data Analyst develops meaningful analyses, dashboards, and predictive insights that drive quality improvement and enhance patient outcomes. This position supports mandatory CMS quality reporting programs, Joint Commission standards, and other federal, state, and organizational reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data to support quality improvement initiatives and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports that provide actionable insights for clinical and operational leaders.
  • Support CMS quality reporting programs, including Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR), Outpatient Quality Reporting (OQR), Hospital Value-Based Purchasing (HVBP), Hospital-Acquired Condition (HAC) Reduction Program, Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program (HRRP), Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting (IPFQR), and other required Medicare quality programs.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of submitted data.
  • Analyze quality and performance metrics using statistical and predictive analytical techniques to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to support quality improvement projects, regulatory readiness, accreditation activities, and organizational performance goals.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful visualizations and executive-level reports that support informed decision-making.
  • Assist with data governance activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Monitor evolving CMS, Joint Commission, and healthcare quality reporting requirements and recommend process improvements as appropriate.
  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of quality and performance improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Health Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with healthcare, clinical, financial, or quality performance data.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting reporting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Databricks and enterprise data warehousing platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills, including database querying, data extraction, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, C++, or a similar language used for analytics and automation.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical methodologies, including regression analysis, trend analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Clinical or healthcare industry experience with knowledge of healthcare quality measures, regulatory reporting, and performance improvement.
  • Experience working with Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems and associated reporting tools, including extracting, analyzing, and validating clinical data.
  • Experience developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of CMS quality reporting programs, Joint Commission accreditation standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Experience and/or education specific to preparation and analysis of healthcare quality data. Computer skills proficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite.
