Job Description

The LIMS SME/Developer and Configuration Specialist will provide product knowledge for installing and configuring StarLIMS LIMS/ELN systems for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA).

Duties include:

Performs installation, configuration, and testing

Performs functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships

Possesses requisite knowledge and expertise in the professional community that the Government is able to qualify the individual as an expert in the field for an actual TO

Demonstrates expertise with LIMS, including integration with workflows outside of laboratories and provides expert analysis advice and recommendations

Configure and customize the LIMS / ELN

Integrate instruments and other systems

Acts as liaison between internal laboratory users and vendor to address various system issues and user requirements

Evaluates product enhancements and capabilities Implements upgrades and enhancements

Develops / configures user requirements, upgrades, and enhancements,

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Chemistry / Microbiology or related industry + 1 year experience for junior level and BS + 5 years for senior level in a Lab environment (testing, instruments, LIMS, ELN, LIS, CDS, clinical, healthcare, etc)

STARLIMS Development or Configuration experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated working understanding of laboratory operations and practices strong organizational and/or project management skills

Ability to contribute to multiple projects for different business stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

FDA Project Information: LabAnswer is pursuing a contract with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) for the continued implementation, deployment, integration, training, testing and support of FDA's Laboratory Information Managements System (LIMS). We are currently working on the project as a subcontractor. The new contract is anticipated to be awarded in late July, 2016 for a period of 7 years. There are approximately 6 remote LIMS SME positions.

Travel requirement: This is a remote position so the candidate can live anywhere in the USA. The position will require 11-25% travel.
