Job description

Onsite Healthcare Financial Controller


Currently looking for a Financial Controller to lead the financial operations for a Healthcare facility. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field required. Experience in Healthcare financial management, with experience supporting regulatory reporting, financial reporting, and external audits, is also required.

This is an onsite position.

Minimum Requirements of the Controller:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field 
  • Experience in hospital financial management required
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting requirements
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Critical Access Hospital experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • High attention to detail and organizational strength
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic healthcare environment
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to mission-driven healthcare


Responsibilities of the Controller:

  • Supervise accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting staff
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages
  • Support year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors
  • Conduct financial variance analysis and partner with department leaders
  • Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Oversee preparation of Medicare Cost Reports, Disproportionate Share (DSH) audits, and Form 990 filings
  • Monitor financial controls and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement structures
  • Support financial forecasting and performance analysis.
