Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Stationary Engineer I, you will provide routine maintenance and preventive maintenance for boilers, chillers, and all central plant equipment, including air conditioning and refrigeration, to ensure a safe and healthful environment.
Every day you will perform tasks focused on power plant operation, along with general maintenance duties such as filter changing, wheelchair/gurney repair, electrical, plumbing, equipment maintenance, and safety testing.
To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in power plant operation and central plant equipment maintenance, strong general maintenance skills, and a meticulous approach to preventive maintenance and safety testing.

  • Regularly starts, stops and adjusts or regulates equipment as necessary to properly condition the facility.
  • Observes meters and gauges, manipulates valves and machinery to keep readings within the specified requirements. Performs routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning of boilers and central plant equipment on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain, operate, and change parameters and messages on the HVAC computer system to maintain proper comfort conditions.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment by using established departmental procedures assuring minimized equipment failure.
  • Repairs and maintains valves, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures, and opens clogged drains.
  • Repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
