You may coordinate with nurses, social workers, and family members to ensure your care integrates seamlessly with the broader care plan. Documentation of each session and maintaining communication with the interdisciplinary team are also important aspects of the role. Flexibility is needed, as schedules often vary based on patient needs and the hospice’s caseload. Strong emotional intelligence, compassion, and excellent communication skills help in providing comfort to patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary hospice teams. These abilities are crucial for delivering safe, supportive care that respects the unique needs of patients at the end of life.
