Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Kitchen Equipment Technician to join our team at Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia. As a Kitchen Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial electrical and gas kitchen equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. What will you do?
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, dishwashers, and beverage systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues and complete timely repairs to minimize downtime
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and ensure reliable operation
  • Ensure all equipment meets health, safety, and sanitation standards through consistent compliance checks
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and maintain accurate records of repairs, schedules, and parts inventory
  • Support overall facility operations by assisting with general maintenance tasks and ensuring proper use and care of tools and equipment
  • Guide kitchen team members on correct equipment use and care to promote safe and efficient operations

More about you
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related field preferred
  • Tradesmen License in Electrical, Gas Fitting, and HVAC (Journeyman or Master), and EPA Section 608 (refrigeration) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience repairing commercial kitchen equipment or in a similar facilities maintenance role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, gas equipment, and refrigeration principles, and familiarity with local health and safety codes and regulations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance, or in trades such as electrical, refrigeration, plumbing
  • Expanded knowledge of concrete, tile, and welding, ability to comply with company vehicle policy, and ability to adhere to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Capacity to perform level one trade functions such as electrical motor troubleshooting to 220 volts, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, basic boiler operation and kitchen equipment repair
