Ellis Park offers live thoroughbred horse racing during the summer season, with simulcast wagering 365 days a year, 300 HHR machines, exciting promotions, convenient sports betting, The Pea Patch Deli, Dade Park Grill and more.

JOB SUMMARY

Are you a security professional who excels at customer relations and risk management? Are you interested in joining the exciting world of horse racing and gaming? Ellis Park Racing & Gaming is hiring Security Officers to join our winning team! 

An Ellis Park Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of all Ellis Park guests, team members, and property. They are also responsible for addressing issues such as altercations, theft, vandalism, fire, trespassing, and other illegal activities in a calm, cool, and collected manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide safety and security to Ellis Park guests, team members, and property.
  • Report and assist in medical emergency situations.
  • Check IDs and verify all guests entering the gaming floor are 21 or older.
  • Patrol the facility, backside, and parking lot on a routine scheduled basis.
  • Watch for and report all irregularities occurring during the shift. Prepare documentation concerning each incident and report to the appropriate personnel daily.
  • Escort Ellis Park guests and team members to their vehicles, as requested, to ensure their safety.
  • Escort all money transferred to and from the cage.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Relevant work experience in security or related field.
  • Available to work when needed during our race season, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a KHRGC license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Requires the ability to drive hear, sit, stand, talk, walk, turn/twist and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to balance/climb, bend over, crouch/stoop, kneel and reach overhead 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift and slide/transfer 1- 50+ lbs. 25-50% of the time.
  • Work in a extreme temperatures and a smoking environment
