Department Description:
Screen Gems Pictures develops and produces genre thrillers, sci-fi, action and horror-themed theatrical motion pictures as a stand-alone unit under the auspices of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Worldwide Motion Picture Group. Since Screen Gems is a small division and has full responsibility for bringing its product to market, our interns are exposed to all aspects of "making movies" as well as what it is like to work for one of the major motion picture companies.
Responsibilities:
  • Reading and providing coverage for incoming submissions and project drafts

  • Assist with scheduling, answering phones, and office assistant-type tasks

  • Research and compile lists of potential actors, directors, and writers for upcoming film

  • Additional support with project-related research for films in creative development,

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of desk experience.

  • Passion and focus on filmed entertainment.

  • Prior script coverage experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Web/tech-savvy to monitor and evaluate trending topics, and ideas on social media and online.

  • Good eye for creative materials and topics in the zeitgeist, which will aid executives in brainstorming projects.

  • Passion for genre storytelling, including horror, grounded sci-fi, and action.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
