Job Purpose

The Advanced development unit within the new Digital Innovation Division will specifically focus on the design perspective for the innovation and advancement of tools and automation support. This position requires creativity and out of the box thinking to drive the creation and development of new digital tools and solutions to advance ADC and global developments. This associate will be working directly with Japan to support projects and correlate activities. It is important that the PIC advocates for ADC specific use cases and the overall NA perspective.

Key Accountabilities

Identify designer tools and processes that can be eliminated, simplified, and automated. Identify target areas for Machine Learning and Automation to transform our business processes and allow our business to focus on core value added work. Support DI theme creation and execution as a primary responsibility. Correlate with design and other parts of HDMA and AHM-IT to understand requirements and use cases. Maintain theme objectives, schedule, and output. Be a voice for design and create innovative solutions. Provide the design perspective on theme activities across the division. Provide support and feedback for other themes and activities within DI in the form of testing, working with design to establish use cases, and being a design advisor. Attend meetings and provide collaborative feedback. Support Japan led projects to digitally innovate tools and methods. Collaborate with Japan to coordinate activities and long-term goals of projects. Execute responsibilities designated to NA team for global Honda projects. Support onsite meetings with Japan members and trips to Japan to move the project forward.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum educational qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field of study. Minimum Experience: At least 5 or more years of relevant work experience after completion of academics. Other job-specific skills: Should be able to introduce new ideas, to improve CAD processes and data workflows. Curious and motivated to learn new digital engineering tools, including CAD, PLM, and AI-based solutions. Be willing to question current CAD methods to improve consistency and efficiency. Be able to troubleshoot complex CAD, data, and workflow issues while working with crossfunctional teams. Be skilled in data analysis. Communicates clearly and effectively with designers, IT partners, and management. Makes sound decisions and solves problems related to CAD systems, processes, and data. Comfortable working with changing requirements and evolving systems. Able to prioritize multiple CAD-related tasks with limited guidance. Works effectively with associates and management internal and across regions, including collaboration with Japan counterparts. Uses data and system metrics to identify issues and improvement opportunities. Ability to appropriately manage confidential information. Creative, outside the box thinking. Curiosity and motivation to learn new innovative tools and methods. Not afraid to challenge the current accepted methods and processes. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based environment. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Strong decision making/problem solving skills. Ability to comfortably navigate uncertainty. Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks with limited direction. Ability to interact/communicate effectively with associates and management.

Workstyle

This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
