Salary Range
0.00 - 0.00Job Summary
Vancouver Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is looking for enthusiastic
candidates that are skilled in working with all ages and abilities in a classroom
environment. As a homeschool course instructor, you will represent the City in a
capacity of planning and leading class curriculum in one or more assigned
formats, set up and monitor class equipment/supplies, ensure its return is in
serviceable condition, communicate and work well with all program participants,
other staff, and any individuals contacted in the course of work. These
homeschool courses are all elective courses to supplement core curriculum for
homeschool students.
Hourly pay range: $25.98- 28.68Job Details
  • Previous work or volunteer experience or training with a an education background and/or conducting classroom setting classes.
  • Knowledgeable about and experience with course curriculum if you are proposing a course.
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate course curriculum for a 55 minute 6-12 week course for students aged 6-9, 9-12 and 12-18.
  • Previous experience working with people with special needs is desirable.
Qualifications
Required Licenses and/or Certifications:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid CPR, First Aid, and AED cards within one month of hire.

Abilities
  • Work a flexible schedule October-May two days during the week between 9am-1:30pm at Firstenburg Community Center.
  • Respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with the public, program participant and other city employees.
  • Interact well with a diverse group of program participants.
  • Read, write and follow instructions.
  • Monitor compliance policies and procedures.

This position is subject to successful completion of a pre-employment reference check, and a basic criminal background check.
