An Automation Technician is required for a hands-on engineering role focused on building, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining high-precision automation equipment.

The Automation Technician will work closely with engineers and production operators to keep specialist equipment running accurately, safely and reliably. You’ll be involved in assembly, calibration, troubleshooting and repair, with ownership of detailed technical issues from first diagnosis through to documented resolution.

  • Opportunity to work with advanced automation and high-precision hardware

Automation Technician / Engineering Technician / Hardware Technician Role:

  • Build and assemble custom automation equipment, including mechanical, electrical and optical components.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues through hands-on work such as replacing parts, soldering connections, realigning optics and recalibrating sensors.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment to precise tolerances using tools such as calipers, feeler gauges, multimeters and microscopes.
  • Work across cameras, lenses, machined parts, computer components, low-power electrical systems, pneumatics and 3D-printed parts.
  • Troubleshoot complex multi-system issues alongside engineers, tracing faults across mechanical, electrical and software layers.
  • Speak with operators to understand when and how equipment issues occur.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to document issues clearly and concisely.
  • Comfortable communicating with both production operators and engineers.
