Job Description
DUTIES: Design, develop, and deploy the embedded controls and software for all vehicle systems and components that manage cabin comfort. Work as part of an Agile Scrum team that develops embedded automotive HVAC Climate Control systems. Participate in the Agile Team and ART Program Events. Work with Scrum Lead, Scrum Mangers, Controller Integration Engineers, and other developers, using methods like Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD), create and implement Features for GM's next generation of EV and ICE vehicles. Create and integrate software in either MATLAB Simulink models, adhering to modeling, software, and auto-coding best practices, or hand-coded C, with some flexibility to choose implementation methods. Create hand code to address any requirements not achieved through auto coding process. Create interfaces as required to integrate new software components into existing software. Create and modify Unit test cases and multicomponent test cases to ensure thorough software testing and execute model and code equivalences testing. Archive software components into repository database. Create and update functional test plans and execute those tests on a HIL bench and target controller build using common automotive test tools such as Intrepid Vehicle Spy. Interface with GM internal teams including Calibrators and Vehicle Integration Teams. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field of study and Three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Test Engineer, or related role. Three years of experience with: Debugging C code and MATLAB Simulink; Embedded software development debugging including familiarity and test procedures; Embedded software development build processes; Enterprise Architect Tools for modelling Functional Safety Requirements; Requirement Management Tool including Polarion, Doors Jira, and RTC; Vector Tools, INCA, and DSpace; Writing Requirements and Test Procedures for functional Safety Features; and Writing requirements adhering to ISO- 26262 for ADAS features. One year of experience with: OBD-II compliance Requirements.
