Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, throughput, quality, uptime, and cost reduction.
  • Drive Lean Six Sigma, and reliability-based improvement efforts across sites.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, material handling improvements, and equipment optimization.
  • Ensure engineering solutions are practical, scalable, and sustainable.

Hands-On Engineering & Technical Oversight

  • Act as a senior technical authority for complex engineering challenges across the organization.
  • Support root cause analysis for downtime, safety incidents, and quality issues.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, layouts, specifications, and capital project plans.
  • Engage directly in problem-solving at facilities when needed.

Maintenance & Reliability Leadership

  • Lead maintenance strategy and execution across all locations.
  • Oversee teams that include welders, electricians, mechanical technicians, and contractors.
  • Implement and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Improve equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and spare parts management.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical, mechanical, and environmental regulations.

Capital Projects & Facilities

  • Develop and manage the engineering and maintenance capital budget.
  • Lead multi-site capital projects including equipment installations, expansions, retrofits, and facility upgrades.
  • Select and manage external vendors, integrators, and engineering firms.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field required).
  • Advanced degree, PE license, or certifications (Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CMRT) preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing trades-based maintenance teams (welders, electricians, technicians).

Technical Expertise

  • Broad mechanical and electrical engineering background.
  • Experience with automation, controls, and industrial equipment.
  • Solid understanding of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
