Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a long term mandarin speaking dynamic and detail-oriented Optometry Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through our doors. Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will help coordinate with patient intake, manage medical records, and facilitate effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality eye care services while honing your administrative expertise and optical sales in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with optical side including sales and frame selection based on insurance coverage.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes accurately.
  • Collect and process payments.
  • Manage patient records by updating medical intake forms, reviewing glasses prescriptions, and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with the intake procedures, including collecting medical history forms and explaining clinic policies to patients.
  • Answer single-line phone system professionally, providing information or directing calls appropriately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front office environment to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual Mandarin is required based on our demographic patient population.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
