Job description

Join our team as a Dental Receptionist at Rosewood Family Health Center in Portland, OR!

Dental Receptionists play a vital role in our organization by serving as the frontline connection between patients and their oral healthcare. As the first point of contact, you help set the tone for a welcoming, respectful, and patientcentered dental experience. Your work supports the smooth operation of our dental clinics and directly supports YVFWC's mission to deliver highquality, accessible dental care to the diverse communities we serve.

We offer a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health. Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics.

Position Highlights:

  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

  • $19.91-$24.38/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

  • Additional pay for your bilingual skills, paid on hours worked

What You'll Do:

  • Greet and assist patients, answer phones, route calls, and respond to inquiries in person and via electronic systems

  • Register new patients, update demographics, and maintain accurate and confidential patient records

  • Schedule, cancel, and adjust dental appointments in accordance with clinic guidelines

  • Verify insurance eligibility, collect required documentation, and assist patients with insurancerelated questions

  • Perform frontoffice billing activities, including collecting payments, posting charges, and daily cash reconciliation

  • Support patient care by managing referrals, recalls, treatment plan estimates, and upfront fee collection

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One year's experience in a clinic, optometry or dental office preferred

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at a level 9

  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fastpaced environment with frequent interruptions

  • Basic proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service

  • Basic knowledge of medical or dental terminology
