Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas School of Law is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track assistant, associate or full professor (based on qualifications) starting in the 2027-2028 academic year to teach Legal Research and Writing.
The candidate selected for this position will be expected to develop and deliver instruction in legal analysis, objective and persuasive writing, legal research methodologies, and oral advocacy. They will provide individualized feedback to students, evaluate written assignments, and collaborate with other legal writing faculty to ensure consistency and excellence across courses. Each legal writing faculty member works with two sections of 15-18 students during the fall and spring semesters.
Candidates must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students. Applicants must demonstrate an excellent record of scholarship or, at the entry level, a strong potential for scholarship. Successful candidates will also show a commitment to service within and outside the University. Lateral candidates are encouraged to apply.
