Job description

Overview:

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer to support development and integration of Government-owned and contractor-developed software aboard Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs).

Travel: Negligible Clearance:

An Interim Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements:
  • Experience managing project workflows and driving team collaboration using VS Code, JetBrain’s IntelliJ, JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab
  • Experience in JAVA and Rust
  • Experience in C++ and Python
  • Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipeline development
  • Experience with Linux Environments (Ubuntu / RedHat)
  • Experience with agile software development practices
Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include implementing secure, scalable software architectures and mastering various vendor platforms, payloads, and sensors for successful hardware integration. This role requires close collaboration with the H62 Mission Autonomy Lead to manage agile cycles and translate complex operational requirements into technical specifications. The candidate must be adept at establishing technical baselines and prioritizing high-impact development tasks.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • At least 8 years of software development experience
  • Experience in networking and protobuf
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and managing high-performing software development teams
  • Ability to be a motivated, self-starter
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new skills or grow knowledge areas
Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $92,090 - $135,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
