Job description

Job Summary:
The University of Oklahoma's Health Promotion Research Center is seeking a Programmer Analyst to support behavioral health and cancer prevention research. The role involves developing and maintaining digital tools, providing technical support, and assisting with research data systems to enhance participant engagement and data quality.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, update, and maintain websites, app-related workflows, dashboards, and data tracking systems.
• Support algorithm-based risk assessment tools and participant-facing digital resources.
• Assist with AI-supported content development and workflow automation for research projects.
• Provide technical support and training to research staff using digital research tools.
• Support REDCap, INSIGHT/app-related systems, and other research data platforms.
• Assist with data cleaning, management, reporting, and basic analyses.
• Monitor data quality and help identify issues in study workflows, participant tracking, and engagement data.
• Generate tables, figures, dashboards, and visual summaries for reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Support digital systems used for recruitment, retention, participant communication, and follow-up.
• Monitor engagement and retention trends and develop data-informed recommendations to improve participant engagement.
• Assist with reviewing participant feedback and improving digital assessment tools.
• Lead or assist with preparing lay summaries, community presentations, reports, and outreach materials.
• Contribute to research products related to smoking cessation, cancer screening education, home-based cancer screening test kits, digital health interventions, and health equity.
• Collaborate closely with investigators, coordinators, research staff, and community partners.
• Gain exposure to study design, implementation, digital tool development, data systems, and analysis.
• Opportunities to be included as a contributor or co-author on research publications and presentations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• Valid driver's license to drive OU vehicles.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Health Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience developing or maintaining websites, app-related workflows, dashboards, data tracking systems, or other digital research tools.
• Familiarity with REDCap, research data systems, clinical trial data collection, IRB processes, or health behavior research.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with investigators, research staff, and community partners.
